Marta won a week-long cruise in a contest and is working out the details of the trip. She can choose from 3 destinations and 4 departure dates. Since each cruise lets passengers pick one of 8 different day trips, Marta also needs to choose one of those. How many different cruises can Marta plan?

Mercury:

counting principle. when you have (x) options for the first choice, (y) options for the second choice, etc. you just multiply the number of options for each choice together applying this logic to your problem, multiply (number of destinations)(number of departure dates)(number of day trips)
