BlankSpace:

I identify as a Republican. (the right) Why should I be a Democrat? (the left) [Please only democrats respond. Also debate in a civilized manner.] THESE TOPICS CAN INCLUDE, BUT OR NOT LIMITED TO, ABORTION, RACISM, SEXISM OPPRESSION, IMPEACHMENT OF THE POTUS AND FAT-PRIDE. I am also Australian, not American.

lowkey:

Of course you're a republican.

BlankSpace:

Is that supposed to be offensive or a compliment? idk

BlankSpace:

This doesn't show anything. I'm asking for someone to try and persuade me to join the left.

Eiwoh2:

I don't understand the point of this question. x'D

BlankSpace:

It's a debate, not a question

Shadow:

@BlankSpace I am here when you're ready.

BlankSpace:

Ok @Shadow

BlankSpace:

You start.

Shadow:

I personally identify as Independent, but I'm here for fun and a little bit of curiosity.

BlankSpace:

I love debating, it's interesting.

Shadow:

You should be Democrat since, (1) Trump will be the Republican nomination. And he is terrible.

Shadow:

Let's start there.

BlankSpace:

Why do you think Trump is terrible?

BlankSpace:

1552970548-5c8e81cf10b76c15cee11b00-ab0cb77e15d90cc57ba3f7d117b6846085198709618f3cb34d8dd9b72992697c.jpg

Shadow:

One of the key aspects he's messed up on is trade. He is obviously nationalistic and pro-America, yet his dealings with China has increased our trade deficit with them. They've responded with hitting key markets of profit for American farmers such as soybean, resulting in an economic loss for the country.

BlankSpace:

Anything else?

BlankSpace:

I can say a few things about Obama too.

Shadow:

As supposedly being the conservative pick for the White House, he's made trade an issue with various countries, not only China, but also Canada. He started increasing tariffs for some odd reason like security concerns. Canada, a close ally, questioned this, then responded in kind. This also hurt small businesses and jobs.

Shadow:

The framework is that Trump has proven himself to be economically unsound. Whilst I admit that he's been good on regulations, his international trade has been utterly disappointing.

Shadow:

Also, Obama isn't running in 2020.

BlankSpace:

Ok, give me a rundown on who is. Please not Bernie Sanders

BlankSpace:

I am really hoping that he's not.

Shadow:

Honestly, I don't like Democrats either for various reasons. I'd be more curious about your thoughts on an Independent candidate.

Shadow:

The Democrats have grown a radical group within it's center, which is pushing the more moderates out unless they cave in to the middle, joining what will likely be the Democratic Party of the future. This has resulted in various policies that will likely bankrupt the country if these people get elected. Since no strong moderates are running, an Independent would likely get all the moderate Democrat voters and the moderate Republican voters.

Shadow:

In debates, all of the radical policies could be emphasized in debates, then they can be pushed out.

BlankSpace:

Exactly. And it's actually "politically incorrect" to use real facts that ruin the democrats' claims. Like the subject of abortion, or men having more rights than women.

BlankSpace:

As in women and men probably did reach equality, but women have most definitely surpassed the rights of a man in terms of being able to have custody of the child, having less jail-time for the same crime but if committed by a man, he would be jailed for a lot longer.

BlankSpace:

Women also have the right to kill babies because it's "their bodies"

BlankSpace:

Abortion, not babies that have been birthed already. But they might as well have.

Shadow:

I can increase your vocabulary and argument there. The way the left understands it, America is a patriarchy. A patriarchy is a system in which men rule, and women typically are subservient, not as powerful, or not as 'privileged.' As I mentioned in chat, these are key words in their understanding of the world, which they think runs off of power and privilege. Aka a white man will be the oppressor of a black woman in many instances, but never a black woman to a white man. Since they think this is the equation: \[Racism = Prejudice + Power \] In this case, power is synonymous with privilege. If I punch the black guy instead of the white guy because he's black, that is prejudice. If I am white, it is racism, because that adds the power dynamic.

Shadow:

It is key to understand this, as this is how they can say black people can't be racist, since if a black person were to punch a white person because they were white, they are prejudiced against them. But since in America all the white people have the 'power,' it cannot be racism.

Shadow:

Does that make sense?

BlankSpace:

Yes, it does, but you're not really debating lol. It's more like you agree that democrats make up crap.

BlankSpace:

Oh yes, Steven Crowder released a new video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nhXQS5UUGQ

Shadow:

Going on the patriarchy bit, here are some key facts to add to your Televisionnal: (1) men commit more suicide -"In 2017, men died by suicide 3.54x more often than women." -"White males accounted for 77.97% of suicide deaths in 2017." (Must be a great system that only empowers them if they are offing themselves, right?) https://afsp.org/about-suicide/suicide-statistics/

Shadow:

(2) More men in jail, but you seem to already know that one. Also the sentencing.

Shadow:

(3) Women are doing better than men in education

BlankSpace:

Men account for 93% of workplace deaths.

Shadow:

Men take the more dangerous jobs.

BlankSpace:

The wage gap exists simply because women have different job preferences then men, which are usually lower-paying.

Shadow:

Haha, was about to say

BlankSpace:

The list goes on and on.

Shadow:

I actually debated Molly, aka YoursTruly a while back on the wage gap.

BlankSpace:

She is a big feminist lmao

Shadow:

She actually seems much more conservative nowadays

BlankSpace:

She dislikes that I said that there shouldn't be a day specific for one day.

BlankSpace:

for one gender*

Bob:

The terms convervative and liberal make more sense imo and yeah, the soy boys here need their soy ;)

BlankSpace:

Hmm

Bob:

wanna debate

Bob:

what do you think of same sex marriage

Bob:

@BlankSpace

BlankSpace:

I think it's fine.

Bob:

yeah the picture kind of helped tbh lol

BlankSpace:

Although, it's the churches' choice whether or not they want to allow them to be pronounced married in the house of god.

Bob:

do you think there's an object standard for what's right or wrong

BlankSpace:

Anywhere else that isn't religious, is the right of the people.

Bob:

objective*

BlankSpace:

No. I just believe getting married in a church (in which the religion of christianity is disgusted by homosexuals, as see in the bible) is not the governments' choice. Some people believe gay people should be allowed to marry in a church, I disagree.

BlankSpace:

seen* not see

BlankSpace:

I don't care if same-sex marriage is allowed. Just not in a church. It's offensive to the bible.

Bob:

Alright, but christians don't only have a problem with same sex marriages in churches, they have a problem with it globally, not just in churches.

BlankSpace:

Okay, but that's not the churches' choice. They only have a right in churches, as seen in the constitution. The government is not allowed to disrupt a church's practices.

BlankSpace:

And I'm Australian, not American.

BlankSpace:

Constitution being the US constitution.

BlankSpace:

Are you understanding?

Bob:

You're Australian, i dont get what this has to do with the conversation

BlankSpace:

In case you thought I was talking about the Australian constitution

BlankSpace:

Just as a precaution

Bob:

I know nothing of the australian constitution lol

BlankSpace:

Me either lmao

Bob:

you dont ?

BlankSpace:

I know more about the US constitution than the AUS constitution because of the media.

BlankSpace:

"2nd amendment rights!"

Bob:

don't you think as a citizen of australia you have a duty to know the constitution ?

BlankSpace:

I have never felt abused of my rights. The constitution just basically states we have rights as citizens.

BlankSpace:

Not really anything else.

BlankSpace:

We used to be allowed guns

BlankSpace:

But that was removed in the 90's I believe. Now Australia has some of the least amount of crime in the world.

Bob:

that sucks

BlankSpace:

But they did that before everyone had guns

BlankSpace:

If the US did that, there would be way too many criminals with guns

BlankSpace:

That's why the 2nd amendment applies in the US, imo

Bob:

it sounds like you're saying that australia removing guns helped your country. Being a republican, aren't you pro-gun though ?

BlankSpace:

I am pro-gun, for the US.

BlankSpace:

Australia didn't have many people using guns at the time

BlankSpace:

So when they removed it, not really any criminals had guns

BlankSpace:

Whereas in the US. If they were to remove guns, criminals would keep them

Bob:

Australia must be a pretty nice place with all the kangaroos hopping around

BlankSpace:

Lol

BlankSpace:

Most of them are wallabies

Bob:

queen is a pretty nice band, they made a couple songs that are anthems of sporting events

BlankSpace:

Yes, okay?

Bob:

your picture lol

BlankSpace:

Aren't we having a debate about churches and same-sex marriage?

BlankSpace:

And guns?

BlankSpace:

I don't know how Queen came into this conversation lol

Bob:

oh yeah

Bob:

i think mark dice is pretty good

Bob:

you know him ?

BlankSpace:

Michael Jackson?

BlankSpace:

He's a pedo

Bob:

whaaaat ? mark dice is a youtuber I think michael jackson is innocent but that's another story

Bob:

The new documentary is a just a money grabbing smear campaign against MJ, here's a guy who already testified under oath that MJ did nothing wrong but now he's "coming out." This is the "#MeTooMovement", as a republican I'm kinda shocked tbh that you didn't see through it.

BlankSpace:

His name on pronography sites was "Dr. Black" lmao

BlankSpace:

And "Marcel Jackson"

BlankSpace:

Because the evidence is compelling. @Bob

BlankSpace:

Did you read the information in the link I gave you?

BlankSpace:

That was the details of what was found in the 2005 raid of the Neverland ranch.

BlankSpace:

An official court order.

Bob:

I'm kind of tired of the self-righteous hypocrisy coming out against MJ. The guy helped millions of kids and people around the world through charity and his songs like "heal the world" and "we are the world."

BlankSpace:

So? He also had secret rooms with beds, alarms on the stairs, (to know if someone is coming to his room) door knobs with boys kissing, dummies of little boys placed in the oddest positions, and even on his tomb it shows a boy giving a bIowjob to a man.

BlankSpace:

Let me find a pic of the tomb real quick.

Bob:

that's not necessary, all I'm saying is Michael Jackson was arguably the greatest entertainer of all time who helped the world a lot, and we should respect that.

BlankSpace:

Yes, but MJ fans are defending him as a person.

BlankSpace:

His music shouldn't be in this.

Bob:

really, dude ? a lot of old greek art looks "revealing"

BlankSpace:

I'm not mentioning that. I am talking about on the right.

Bob:

and his music shouldn't be in this ? I see articles online that say "is it still ok to listen to michael jackson?" To say that his music isn't in this is completely ridiculous. That's all this smear job is about, to destroy MJ.

Bob:

I saw the engravings on the stone

BlankSpace:

Yes, the one on the right is extremely strange.

Bob:

I think greek architecture and art is pretty inappropriate

Bob:

and weird

Bob:

but a lot of people like it

Bob:

it's sort of like a naked cupid

BlankSpace:

No, the way they were positioned is what troubles me

Bob:

i think old greek art is a pretty dumb point of accusation against MJ

BlankSpace:

The "kid" is fully clothed but the man isn't (which is fine, because it's that style of art) but the boy is kneeling in front of his penis and hugging his buttocks. Maybe this was just the way the artist who made it is like, but it is still very weird positioning.

Bob:

it's art

BlankSpace:

I don't use this as evidence though

BlankSpace:

It's most likely art

BlankSpace:

Like you stated

Bob:

it's not a secret message MJ wanted to portray by telling everybody he was a pedophile

Bob:

anyway you should search up Mark Dice, he's a funny conservative YTer

BlankSpace:

Exactly. A pedo wouldn't tell or show anyone the are a pedo

BlankSpace:

@Bob I like to watch Steven Crowder

Bob:

yeah I watched some of his change my mind videos

BlankSpace:

Pretty good political views. Except I dislike the global warming videos

Bob:

what does he say

BlankSpace:

Apparently humans, in his words, may take part in global warming. He doesn't believe we definitely are causing global warming in anyway. Just maybe we are.

BlankSpace:

I believe we do take part in global warming, but not entirely

Bob:

global warming has gotten to the point where it's completely ridiculous to believe in my opinion

BlankSpace:

The way some democrats put it as, is utterly ridiculous.

Bob:

the world is going to end in 12 years because of climate change ? ridiculous

BlankSpace:

I don't see many republicans stating those claims.

BlankSpace:

;)

Bob:

sad how republicans bow out to democrats

BlankSpace:

It is.

BlankSpace:

All republicans who have opposing views of the democrats are "racist" and "sexist"

BlankSpace:

Makes me politically incorrect.

BlankSpace:

If you look at the quick history of democrats, they supported white supremacists.

Bob:

i think everybody knows that

BlankSpace:

Democrats act like it's false ;)

Bob:

hillary supported robert byrd but they just say that was then and this is now

BlankSpace:

I disagree.

BlankSpace:

Victimizing women and people of color (for no actual reason) is the same as no equal rights

BlankSpace:

Same basic views

Bob:

disagree with what

BlankSpace:

How so?

BlankSpace:

How much more rights does a white man have over a black woman?

Bob:

no i mean what do you disagree with

BlankSpace:

oh

BlankSpace:

I disagree with the fact it is in the past

BlankSpace:

It is still the same, but they changed it up a bit.

Bob:

only thing good about hillary is the memes

BlankSpace:

I like this one 1552970548-5c8e81cf10b76c15cee11b00-ab0cb77e15d90cc57ba3f7d117b6846085198709618f3cb34d8dd9b72992697c.jpg

Bob:

she's not running again I think

Bob:

bernie is probably gonna win the nomination

BlankSpace:

I hope. Is Bernie running?

Bob:

yeah he is

BlankSpace:

I hate him and his views

Bob:

so many people blinded by socialism thinking they get stuff for free nothing is free, somebody has to pay for it

BlankSpace:

I don't want higher taxes, so healthcare is 'free' for everyone

Bob:

yeah "free stuff" basically means higher taxes for everybody to pay for it

BlankSpace:

I shouldn't have to pay for someone who has diabetes as a tax payer.

BlankSpace:

They gave themselves diabetes most of the time

BlankSpace:

And tax payers are expected to pay for it

Shadow:

1. The Supreme Court was right to affirm same sex couples the right to marry. Although I believe no church should be forced to hold a ceremony/ 2. Australia's gun ban worked due to the culture and population, which is highly different than U.S. 3. Global warming is natural, but it has been exacerbated by humans pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and deforestation. Also, climate change such as ocean acidification is due to humans. 4. Socialism is terrible. Evidence: Venezuela

BlankSpace:

with Bernie's views

BlankSpace:

@Shadow Everything you said, I agree with.

Bob:

this is funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrz8ma-GskY

Shadow:

The likelihood of a socialist candidate winning the Democratic nomination is high. Top candidates are people like Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Andrew Yang. I heard Beto is doing good on funding as well. They call themselves Democratic Socialists. This is stupid. It is still socialism. But this Washington Post video said the difference is because it's 'Democratic,' aka 'not totalitarian' and the people control it by voting for politicians (hah nice joke).

BlankSpace:

It's funny how Bill Clinton is known for sex scandals and Hillary never left him

BlankSpace:

Seems kind of odd.

Shadow:

Their policies are terrible: -Universal basic Income (UBI) Throwing money at poor people, also known as people who are bad with money, is not a good idea. -Medicare for all The government is bad at everything. Give medical care to companies, let them compete across the nation, prices will go down and quality will go up. Capitalism > Socialism. -Free college Who is paying for this? Kind of like the first two. It will bankrupt this country and rob people of learning the value of $$$. Also, it perpetuates the idea that you need college to succeed *cough* Mark Zuckerberg. -Taxing the rich "In 2014, the top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined." Aka, lets tax the people who pay more into the system. They'll like that and definitely stick around.

BlankSpace:

Everyone will move to the UK or AUS if that is put in place (the rich tax payers)

Shadow:

Honestly the argument for UBI is pretty good, jobs are threatened by technology, innovation, automation, and AI, but capitalism is economic system that produces jobs. The gaming industry isn't one that was around a century ago. Capitalism which values innovation brought it out of the imagination of man and into reality. I wonder how many jobs that is...

Shadow:

Apparently it's 220,000 jobs and approx $30 billion in revenue as of 2015. Hard to believe that hasn't increased with Fortnite lol

BlankSpace:

Fortnitea and Minecraft most likely

Shadow:

Yeah the idea is that UBI replaces the loss of jobs, yet capitalism has proven to create more jobs, if you let it (*cough* regulations). Although it's obscure how this happens, so it's easy for politicians to say "I'll give you money."

Shadow:

And UBI feels moral too. Take money from the rich people and give it to the poor. But...it robs the rich of doing what they do best. Carving out growth for the country.

Shadow:

Anyway I am headed into a League match. I’ll let you guys get back to it.

Bob:

If you don't believe in an objective standard for what's right or wrong, all I have to do if I'm a democrat is say you're wrong because I said so. Since everything to you is subjective. To say there is no objective standard is ignorance
