So my topic is Honor Killings and I'm trying to build an argument, would this qualify? : Honor Killings are not just a Muslim problem, it is the most extreme form of institutionalized violence against women which violates their rights as humans.

My teacher is kind of picky and wants a good strong argument statement so
like a thesis statement? personally I think that's good
Not just a thesis statement it needs to be an argument like I can't just say thar honor killings are bad I have to specifically be arguing something
so do you think that is good
yeah do you have/or do you think you have enough evidence to defend it?
PRESENTATIONS - Using Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Prezi, give a brief overview of your project (argument and integrate points, naysayer, interesting research). 4 to 5 minutes in length (5 minute max!) / no more than 4 slides excluding first/cover. This should serve as an outline / roadmap of your first draft.
SO this is my assignment,. Its basically just an outline so to give enough points I could say outline three main points?
sure my suggestion would be to try to address both parts of your argument 1) Honor Killings are not just a Muslim problem and 2) it is the most extreme form of institutionalized violence against women which violates their rights as humans. point 1) is a bit easier to defend, you can simply research the history of honor killing and how it occurs with non-muslim countries/people point 2) you will have to define what institutionalized violence is, how honor killing qualifies, and how it violates the human rights of women
I have to obviously explain on my own too so this is just a rough outline .
I also now need to come up with a naysayer: so basically an opposing statement
i got that lol im done now ill just send you my 4 slides just so you can check it oveR?>
hm that's a bit harder your opponent will probably try to say that the most egregious/prevalent cases of honor killings are in muslim countries as for the second bullet point... hm... I don't think people will try to argue that it's not a human rights violation, but they may try to argue against your sub-points (they may see those points as oversimplifying the culture and freedoms of woman dealing with these issues)
honestly I might defer to shadow on this one, he's better at this sort of thing
I did message him =)
for an outline I think you have a good start I'd also make sure you have a source/citation to back up each assertion, for example, for the human rights violation, you could cite some specific legislature that protects people against unwanton violence
, to demonstrate that honor killings are direct violation human rights that sort of thing
okay sounds good. its supposed to be an outline so im glad you said that
yeah, like I said it looks good so far, just keep working on the details I'll be available pretty readily this week if you need extra help
