Why are we required an English class? It should be an option for the people going into that field. Like take it out of High School and put it in College or something like that. If you going into like a field here you work on cars... knowing what an adjective isn't gonna help you fix a car. It's not gonna help you bake a cake. Anyone agree? Do I make a point here or do I just sound crazy?
i agree to a point, we do need writing skills and to form sentences, i think we need grammar mostly. but we don't need writing in high school other than resume's and business letters
because that will benefit us with landing a job or getting into a college
if we didn't know how to form a basic sentence, how could we describe whats wrong in a customers car "air filter broken is"
We learn most of it in Middle School. I feel like in high school they're just re-teaching in. I feel like, since we have limited hours. In high school they could take out English and make it like advanced in Collage. So in high school there is more room for a class that fits your field you want to go into.
thats what a college can do
just make writing a part of your business class,
because thats what you'll use it most for later in life anyway
Alright
Well, as Derick/Pixel stated above it helps with grammar technically, but as well as vocabulary and other aspects in English. It helps in many ways possible. I mean you have to learn English sometime.
Alright. But, I learned most of what they're teaching in my English class in Middle School. They're just basically re-teaching what we've already learned. But, this question is opinionated so every answer is fine.
Grammar is a large one,, but the overarching idea is to teach people how to write. By increasing your vocabulary and diction, you influence how that person can think, thus how they view the world. When you broaden a student's horizons like that, the heights to which they can reach become unquantifiable as it feeds directly into their untapped potential. P.S. Being a good writer also makes you an excellent speaker.
