lolokrat:

Can someone explain this geometry problem to me?

lolokrat:

lolokrat:

and this one?

Vocaloid:

Vocaloid:

applying this logic to your problem QT/TR = QU/US 5/4=x/6 cross-multiplying will give you 7.5

lolokrat:

ohh i kept setting it up as 5/4=6/x

lolokrat:

why would the x be the numerator?

Vocaloid:

similar logic with the other one TQ/TR = QU/US they don't give you US but you can derive it QU + QS = QS 10 + US = 15 therefore US = 5 going back to the original statement TQ/TR = QU/US (x+1)/(x-1) = 10/5 cross-multiplying gives x = 3

Vocaloid:

oh in that other problem x is the numerator because you're trying to find QU, and QU goes in the numerator of the proportion according to how it's supposed to be set up I just used x instead of QU

lolokrat:

oh that makes sense

lolokrat:

thank you
