First draw out what you know.... |dw:1554490192076:dw| You see you want to know the hypotenuse. Let's use \(\bf{\angle P}\). Our angle is \(\bf{30^{o}}\), we know the side that is the farthest (opposite side) and want to know the hypotenuse. So we look at our ratios. \(\bf{sin(x)=\frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}}\) \(\bf{tan(x)=\frac{opposite}{adjacent}}\) \(\bf{cos(x)=\frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}}\) Which ratio would you use? Remember we know our opposite but want to know the hypotenuse.
