The most common way to contract HIV is from sexual intercourse. Yes you can inherit it from say your mother. But it's more widespread due to intercourse rather than being born with it. As for getting a shot for it, there is no current cure for HIV. There is treatment to slow its effects, but as of right now, there is no permanent cure.

Adultery plays no factor in obtaining HIV. If I had to give an estimate, only around 1/3 of the people who have HIV obtained it that way. A lot of people have it and don't even realize it, and unknowingly share it with others.
