jjprincess:

After simplifying, which expressions are equivalent? Check all that apply. (3.4a – 1.7b) + (2.5a – 3.9b) (2.5a + 1.6b) + (3.4a + 4b) (–3.9b + a) + (–1.7b + 4.9a) –0.4b + (6b – 5.9a) 5.9a – 5.6b

jjprincess:

i'm doing a test and i need help on the questions

Olivia16:

Ok so same thing here .Combine your like terms

jjprincess:

okay

Olivia16:

Tell me what you get once u do that.

jjprincess:

i'm getting zero

Olivia16:

Zero for every one of them? Ok try this for example the 2nd one:(2.5a + 1.6b) + (3.4a + 4b) combine like terms so 2.5a+3.4a=5.9a and 1.6b+4b=5.6.b so it would be 5.9a+5.6b

jjprincess:

it would be 11.5 right

Olivia16:

Ok try that same method with another problem and see what u get

jjprincess:

so the firs second and last answer is correct

Olivia16:

So you got 11.5 for all of them? If so then yes you are absolutely correct.

jjprincess:

thank you very much

Olivia16:

You're very welcome :)
