Okay, one second.

umm:

We are given that, Ship A receives a distress signal from the north and Ship B receives the same signal from the south-east. So, the ship at A will move upwards and the ship at B will move slantingly towards the signal. As seen from the figure attached, we see that they meet at the point ( 4,2 ). So, therefore, the distressed vessel is located at ( 4,2 ).
