geeko:

Which characteristic should a good scientific question have?

Vocaloid:

moved to... uh, well, we don't have a general science section so I'll put this in Physics maybe? next time please post the choices It should lead to a hypothesis that is not testable. It should have a very broad focus with many variables. It should repeat a question that the researcher has answered before. It should be based on observations instead of just imagination.

Vocaloid:

with that out of the way I'll eliminate 2 choices and let you decide between the remaining two 1. It should lead to a hypothesis that is not testable. --> this is false, a good hypothesis ***should*** be testable otherwise we won't be able to design an experiment that will help substantiate or reject the hypothesis 2. It should have a very broad focus with many variables. --> this is also false, a good study should only be testing the effect of *one* variable on another, and the focus should be narrow so between choices 3 and 4 which one do you think is a characteristic of a *good* scientific question?

Thanks
