the right hand rule helps you determine the direction of certain physical quantities like magnetic force, current, etc. it's based on the principle that certain vectors are perpendicular to each other



if you know the direction of one quantity, you can arrange your right hand according to that direction and determine the direction of the other two vectors

as an important note this gives you the direction of a positive charge, if you want a negative charge you need to reverse the directions
