Artistic unity" falls under _____. aesthetics subject matter realism
old question but will attempt to solve so this can be closed let's go over the definitions - aesthetics: the philosophy or principles associated with the appearance/beauty/artistic taste of art/writing - subject matter: the object/idea/etc. that is the focus of the art/writing - realism: a branch of art associated with the depiction of its subjects according to how they are in reality - artistic unity: how the pieces of a work "fit" together and achieve a central purpose artistic unity is a matter of how well the artist/author crafts all the elements of their piece into a final product. it's not the subject they choose to depict, and it's not necessarily realistic, so aesthetics is the best fit imo
