After reading that paragraph, what do you think the author is feeling?
Stephen (or Steve) was a good man, but now he's changed. He's now the meanest man the author ever knew. The author nursed Stephen back to health, and Stephen also saved the author's life. But something obviously changed so that the Author would not be able to control his actions if he ever saw him again.

Do you think the whole paragraph sounds excited? Ironic? Indignant? Playful?
