An automobile company manufactures hatchbacks, sedans, and sports cars. The company conducted a magazine survey to determine the demand for its cars in each of these categories. The results of the survey showed that 78% of those polled preferred hatchbacks, 19% voted for sedans, and 3% voted for sports cars.

If the company expects to sell 15,000 cars in a month, it should plan on of the cars being sedans.

In my opinion, the company would follow the polls. To solve this problem we need to use percentages. Because 19% preferred sedans we should determine what 19 percent of 15000 is.

Gdeinward:

However, this would not be the case in a real-life situation if the number of people polled was less than 15,000. Also, there is no guarantee that all that voted for sedans would actually buy one. But for the purpose of answering this question, I would follow the method previously stated.
