misty34:

I had a blood draw Wednesday and afterwards I had a seizure. I don't know what caused the seizure or what type it was, I know my mom had a history of seizures. That was my first seizure. anyone have any ideas that might help solve my confusion about this? I still feel light headed after that and I have a headache still.

cyborgmeat:

definitely see a doctor because there can be many causes for seizures, and it's best to get a professional opinion so you can treat whatever it is earliest before it becomes a real problem

misty34:

Alright. thank you, I may mention it when I go to the doctor to get my blood results back. If my dad doesn't over react, my dad doesn't believe me or my mom about the seizure I had, he says I was just dizzy but, I wasn't just dizzy.

misty34:

I may have genetically got this from my mom and it just now appeared. Or I have a low deficiency of something and the blood they took probably triggered the seizure. I'll find out soon though about what happened. Thank you

Hero:

What you experienced is not normal. You actually need to see a specialist that can analyze what's going on with your body more thoroughly. I recommend these guys. They're top notch doctors and specialists in human physiology. If there's something wrong they will find it and help you correct the problem: https://goforward.com/

cyborgmeat:

^ even if genetic, it's a serious problem that needs to be caught early on

misty34:

Thank you! What happened Wednesday scared me, confused me and I'm still worried because, I still have a aftermath from it. I'm still lightheaded and have a headache and a few times I felt like I was about to pass out. I think I did pass out last night when I was in my room watching a movie.

cyborgmeat:

try to go to the doctor as soon as you can and take care of yourself! i wish you well

Hero:

Yes, contact Forward, set up an appointment, allow them to the analysis, and get yourself back to normal functionality. And keep us updated on your progress. Best of luck to you. If you're already in CA or NY that's a plus. Those are the two locations of their facilities.

misty34:

Alright. Thank you!

Hero:

BTW, if you haven't seen it, here's a video with more of an explanation of who they are and what they do: https://www.facebook.com/forward/videos/600758783771566/

misty34:

Thank you! I'll check it out

PinkGlitterz:

That's horrible, definitely go set up an appointment with a docor/specialist near you... I'm so sorry to hear about this.

misty34:

I'll set up one as soon as I get a chance and Thank you

werewolf:

if the doctor doesn't help go to the ER

misty34:

I did some research and I found this: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vasovagal-syncope/symptoms-causes/syc-20350527 I feel like it could be this but, at the same time I'm not sure. I'll mention this when I set up an appointment. Thank you.

werewolf:

and I am very sorry for you.. that must have been alfull for you to experience that

Hero:

I'd put money on it that Forward would find the abnormality and provide wellness plan beyond what traditional doctors are able to find.

misty34:

Thank you! I got my blood drawn then, when I was done I went to a chair in the waiting room and like passed out, I reawoke confused, I thought I was still at school then, I realized I was at the hospital. My mom saw me and she said I was shaking, my eyes rolled back.. the only thing I said was I don't know what happened then my mom said I had an episode. and she used to have them and I probably got that from her.

Hero:

Now that you mentioned that your mom used to have them, I know that a traditional doctor would say that there is some hereditary disease that was passed down to you from your mother. But I'm more convinced that this a correctable diet-related blood abnormality that the Forward Lab would detect and give you the proper treatment for.

misty34:

Thank you!

Hero:

I'm of the mindset that hereditary diseases are not "hereditary" as formerly thought. What's more plausible is that there is something about the foods you eat that triggers the abnormality. Perhaps GMOs from a particular brand of food your mom likes but that's laced with harmful strains of bacteria that gets into your bloodstream and causes abnormalities. There's more likely some dietary imbalance that is affecting your blood and getting that blood draw exposed it.

Hero:

Now that I think of it, I realize it doesn't necessarily have to be food that triggers the abnormality. It can be triggered by environmental imbalances/toxins as well that both you and your mom were exposed to.

Hero:

Check the air and water supply as well.

Hero:

Use water filters and air filters in your home in addition to a non-GMO diet.

Hero:

And avoid using chemical detergents and chemical household cleansers. Instead of that, use Baking Soda, Lemon shots, and essential oils (lemon, peppermint, cinnamon, lavender) for cleaning and laundry. That's all you need. For general household cleaning and washing dishes I recommend Dr. Bronner Sal Suds. For air freshener you can use essential oil and water mix in a spray bottle. Along with natural incense.

Ferredoxin4:

I'd say to schedule an EEG (a doctor would probably tell you more) because it'll detect whatever the issue may be. Seizures have a very wide spectrum so it would be better if it was analyzed with an EEG. About the blood drawing though, it's happened before and many get reported as convulsive syncope though it could be like you said, a vasovagal reaction. Did you have convulsions/spasms/catatonia (moving around irregularly)? If not, then it's more likely a vasovagal syncope, which isn't that bad. I've had it a few times before but due to other issues. Many people at the sight of blood or blood drawing get vasovagal syncope. About a genetic predisposition, that can only be answered from tests and a genotype analysis, because some of these are multifactorial and arise from several variant genes. Think about the other factors as well–was your food intake proper, was your breathing well, etc. Were you extremely anxious of the blood being drawn? Were you extremely stressed? Any medications? Now I'm not a doctor so I'd refer to your physician and definitely get an EEG done. Good luck and hopefully it all ends up well.

Ferredoxin4:

@Hero Well said. Natural treatments are always the best.

Hero:

And avoid things like chemical lotions and cosmetics. If you want to use lotions and beauty products, purchase them from etsy.com

Ferredoxin4:

^ Yeah good point though. Eventually all mainstream products have some 'carcinogenic' effect that the people behind the products are just waiting to release.

Hero:

The chemical products women tend to use on their skin gets into the bloodstream relatively quickly and can cause unforeseen problems.

Ferredoxin4:

Of course, and most of which they are, in fact, known by the producers. However, they want to hide it for monetary purposes and then they'll release some information 50 years later saying that the product has traces to cancer or something.

Razor:

No ones pointing out how you got your blood drawn and then after had a seizure. I'm just gonna assume it was already gonna happen eventually and you getting your blood drawn just switched it on. If that makes sense. As the others did say, you should tell people immediately (Parents, Doctors).

cyborgmeat:

correlation NEVER proves causation. sure, that may be a possibility, but there could be many other factors to the problem, and again, it's best to get a professional opinion to make sure the right treatment is sought out

misty34:

Thank you!

misty34:

I think my diet might have something to do with this

misty34:

I researched this more. http://www.heartrhythmalliance.org/stars/uk/reflex-syncope-vasovagal-syncope I feel lightheaded to a few of these but, the sight of blood gives me more severe symptoms than anything else, to the other causes, I just get lightheaded or maybe nauseous but, I'm usually fine. I'll mention all of this to the doctor. Thanks.
