give examples of the following terms. • Narrative nonfiction • Foreshadowing • Subplot • Anecdote • Flashback • Transition

Gdeinward:

foreshadowing- kylee, as she sat there smiling at the beautiful rising sun, had no idea how bad the rest of her day was going to be,

Gdeinward:

subplot- the stories hero is trying to save the world and we are focused on this plot, but we learn of a disagreement between the hero and the sidekick. Essentialy, its part of the story but not as important as the main part of the story.

Gdeinward:

flashback- while katie was waiting to take her test, she began to think about the last test she took the previous day. Here the reader would be taken to the day b4 and get a description of that setting and time.

cyborgmeat:

Anecdote - This reminded Katie of the day she had actually slipped on a banana peel. She hadn't thought it possible, but there she was, strolling down the street and unaware. Suddenly, as if waiting for a victim, the peel slid under her foot and caused her to fall. In retrospect, it was actually quite funny. (an anecdote is a short interesting or funny story based on a true event or person)
