At the beginning of the unit, you were presented with this scenario: “Michael is looking for a part-time summer job prior to his senior year in high school. Eventually, he wants to become a chef. After applying and interviewing for several jobs, he is offered two positions. One position is as a dishwasher at a local restaurant, and this job pays minimum wage. The other position is through a local landscaping company and it pays about $1 per hour more than the dishwashing job. Michael asks you which job you think he should take.” What would you tell Michael? Why? Does your answer differ now from what it was before starting this unit?

hellodarlings:

I would tell Michael to take the job as a dishwasher at the restraunt because he can work his way up in that to a chef. It is still in the same career path as cooking. I've learned you have to start from the very not the and work your way to reach your goal. Career and jobs are different, so Michael at be doing different jobs do but the same career. doing landscaping will take him nowhere near his dream of becoming a chef.
