On December 19, 2012, my entire life would drastically change. I would move from Augusta, Ga to Wagener, SC. Now, the distance is not very far, a whopping hour; however, when you are used to being in the same area for your entire life, it is a major change. Going into a new environment, meant having to leave everything that I have ever known behind. Making new friends would be a chore, The background to this entire tale is not exactly like your typical move. This was not because of a new job or better opportunity, exactly; however, it was mandatory leave unless our family wanted to split. By splitting, this is not a separation with my parents, my father was not involved anyway; this way an avoidance of returning to foster care and my mother being in the Adult Protective Service’s custody. My sister and I met this couple at church by the names of Laura and David Bryant. They were our youth leaders. We were going through a difficult time and spoke of it in church; although, it was not the entire story. Our home was filthy, with garbage all over creation, like a pigsty. It reeked of cat urine and roaches had armies that marked their territory. If that was not bad enough, imagine having your disabled mother walk around in this mess. It was a complete nightmare. I was not too thrilled about this move. Kicking and screaming, I did not want to move. Everything I have ever known would be gone friends, home, and my way of life. However; I did not have a choice. I was only eleven years old. Sometimes, leaving something familiar for the unknown is the best decision you can ever make. In the end, you are better off than where you started. Although, I did not have a choice in the matter because I was underage; in the long run, my life turned out better than it could have been.

kaylak:

I'm still writing but it is for a younger audience but has to be interesting

kaylak:
