What is revenue?

JSVSL7:

Income a corporation earns from sales of a good/service

hellodarlings:

thanks (:

JSVSL7:

np

Shadow:

Be sure not to confuse it as profit. For example, say I used $5 in gas to travel to and from a forest of apple trees. I gather $100 worth in apples and sell them. My revenue is $100, my profit is $95. As @JSVSL7 said, it's simply the sales made.

JSVSL7:

Good point ^ Profit is the total earnings - input cost Revenue is simply total earnings

hellodarlings:

i put this: Revenue is the total amount of money a business makes from what they sell or their services. It is the amount of money they make but it doesn't include the expenses and taxes taken out. Profit and revenue are different things things because companies don't always keep their revenue seeing as it goes to other things needed for the company and taxes.

JSVSL7:

correct

hellodarlings:

awesome thanks
