I speak Spanish and English, and some french.
My parents are from China but I grew up in America so I'm naturally fiuent in English and Chinese. I learned French in highschool and the grammar structure was basically the same as the ones they test you on the SAT/ACT. So that helped me. In New York, there's an area in Queens where people only speak Spanish, and I lived there for 3 months. It was extremely hard for me to communicate with store owners but with awkward gesturing, smiling, and basic human conduct, I was able to communicate with them. I sort've regret that I didn't learn Spanish then. There's lots of spanish speakers in New York. I'm 20.
My old Spanish teacher used to live in New York before she moved to Florida and she said the same thing. I'm 15.
Florida is like 70% hispanic but I took French as my high school language class. I really regret that bc I forgot almost all of French and it isn't of any use down here. I know a bit of Spanish just bc of the high hispanic population here
That is good. The more languages you know, the easier it is to learn more.
