How alike are photoshop and pixlr? Can I use pixlr to learn how to use photoshop better? I probably would just use pixlr but, my class only uses photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.

misty34:

After Introverting I get stuck on the next step in photoshop to get the cut image to Indesign

misty34:

After introverting on pixlr, I used the marquee tool and selected all and added the layer mask did I do it right and would it be the same on photoshop?

misty34:

This is the farthest I've gotten

misty34:

I ended up changing the background color to black instead of separating Deku from the picture

Eh Pixlr is more general and definitely simpler than Photoshop but the only way how to truly learn Photoshop is just practicing more often. Last year in my class my teacher would just give the textbook and not teach that much so I downloaded a free (but pirated) version of Photoshop CS6 and used it to practice at home whenever I got a chance. You don't need to have it pirated they also give 1 month of a free trial. I learned most of the time from Youtube videos. Eventually I got the hang of it.

JSVSL7:

Actually, you don't need to even download photoshop. There's an online ripoff of photoshop called https://www.photopea.com/ Check it out, it has some of the basic functions for photoshop in the same format. I actually used Photopea to learn and then found a pirated version and switched to Photoshop.
