in cooking class we have to make a strawberry shortcake without help but how do I make it fluffy but not heavy at the same time?

separate the egg whites from the egg yolk, make the batter with the egg yolks, beat the egg whites separately and fold it into the batter in the end.

Gdeinward:

I know it sounds weird, but you could add mayo to replace any oils used, cup for cup. It helps to make a moist cake, and by using the posted tip you can have a great cake. But you must remember that it might be the recipe your making or a mistake on your behalf , you never know
