Consider the photograph. The taller man's condition is due to a malfunction in the pituitary gland, which secretes growth hormone. Damage to which part of the brain may be indicated by this condition? mc024-1.jpg cerebrum cerebellum hypothalamus thalamus
Please post the photograph. o:
Cerebrum is for higher order mental thinking, it has nothing to do with endocrinology Cerebellum is for net balance and coordination (vestibular system is for central equilibrium and balance) Hypothalamus is the answer. Hypothalamus directs the pituitary gland to process and secrete GH. If there is a damage in the hypothalamus, the direction of the pituitary gland doesn't exist. Thalamus is kind of like a 'relay' center for sensory and motor signals only. It receives sensory signals from afferent neurons and relays them to the somatosensory complex, and it sends signals from the motor complex it the frontal lobe to the motor neurons.
