I have a 2002 Honda civic LX 4 door. The guy I bought it from changed the steering wheel to like a racing one, but then we tried to put the stock back on and the horn stopped working and the SRS light is on. How do I fix?
The racing steering wheel did not have a horn or an airbag in it. Before he put the racing wheel on, the horn worked fine on the stock one
it shows how to reset the SRS light
But will the airbag work?
but it is odd that the horn wont work. It sounds like an electrical problem
I dunno. Did you look up any forums to see if anyone else had the problem?
Yea, they did. But they just reset it and drove around with a non working airbag... idk how to fix that
Well, did you force anything when you removed the steering wheel?
Nope. I'm looking at some civic forums right now... See what they got.
I'll "accidentally" drop this here: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/36-mechanical-problems-vehicle-issues-fix-forum/254242-horn-doesnt-work.html
Thanks Elsa, I dint think about the ground wire. That might be it
I read this on Elsa's post: did you change your steering wheel? If so, could be the ground wire behind the horn/SRS.
Or maybe it's the relay
It is definitely electrical. Try the fuse, the relay, and the ground wire.
I think its the ground wire. It would fix both of your problems
Oh and the airbag would work if I got into in accident?
I would think. the horn and the SRS seem to be related. You fix the horn you fix the airbag. If you just reset the SRS I dont know if it would work or not
Ok sounds good. Thanks a lot for the help man!
