tamyac:

John says the transformation rule (x, y) es002-1.jpg (x + 4, y + 7) can be used to describe the slide of the pre-image (4, 5) to the image (0, –2). What was his error?

Gdeinward:

You must properly post the picture. It would greatly help us to help you if you did.

tamyac:

their is no picture its just the question

Gdeinward:

Oh okay, its just within your question it shows a jpg.

Gdeinward:

Do you have any ideas on how to solve the problem?

tamyac:

nope i got the rest right but idk how to do this one

dude:

It think you can assume the image is a right arrow (correct me if I’m wrong though) So the translation (x+4, y+7) you have to add those values to the x and y values respectively If you add 4 to 4 you get 8 If you add 4 to 7 you get 11 You would get the point (8,11) Not (0,-2)

Gdeinward:

Adding to Dude, can you see what specific error he made?

tamyac:

no its ask me what is his error but i don't see one

Gdeinward:

Well Dude described that adding 4 to the x coordinate gives you 8 and not 0, adding 7 to the y coordinate does not give you -2

tamyac:

i see his error now thank you very much

Gdeinward:

Your welcome, thank you @dude
