Prompt 1: Ring Mind to my own, Tread the walk Dancing among trees Pebbled with merry stone Seemingly alone, But I left my heart at home With a white, Perhaps impetulant dove That sung me up this morn And to that beginning A man feels reborn Time stolen away, By this arduous forray Finally the cavern twinkles at me With a shiver, I curl up my sleeves Noon had past, Over the mountain the sun had pathed Yet I needed not the oil, to light my work The cave shone with heavenly earth In my wanders and my toil This blessed ground I had found A piece of God’s palace Shattered unto Earth, The break from the wood and stone An age of gems, steel And perhaps even trouble Yet that was not why I was here I was here, for a specific dear Melody of a crystal, to place on her finger And when I finally cleaved the flower From the top of the palace grounds The mountain shook, Aether had resounded

Prompt 2: Mindless A peaceful silence, Makes way for him With bored feet Crushing away fall’s leaves Not a whisper calls his name The game is absent, Fame is at bay A flash of gold, Serrates a silver slipstream His eyes follow, They wake They bleed And so he exhales With a solemn hope to see What waits for him, Beyond that curtain of leaves It is quick So his pace fastens It washes away, Distance beckons saddening And a tear falls from his eyes Piercing a leaf… Sparks fly from its hammock It wakes It bleeds Flames curl away, All the while seething "Merry gold, folly gold" He sings and he sings “Come back to my forge I have the finest tools, And greatest of meanings.” It swivels and blinds his eyes Maybe it’s not meant for him Maybe he’s just a lie He pulls himself from the soil Wearing fall’s leaves, Bearing such toil The leaves are black They gave their flames to him His eyes wash with red Knees snap back to the bend A fateful cry leaps from his mouth This creature is no man, Something more? Something wrong… Animals flee to their homes, As its heart begins to speed Its blood turns to magma Hope turns on her feet for another season ~ That place doesn’t exist anymore People say a man walked in there, And then it became nevermore All they know is that when it became gone An empty skull was left, staring at a sun That had fallen from Nyx, To love no one.

Ballery1:

You should rap

Prompt 3: Bait She walks on water, So that you don’t have to Her feet are cold and wet Yet her smile dances about you Unfurling her wave for the summer wind Allowing the currents to take her To where victory lies within All the while, loosing her voice Unto the mellow, welcoming waters One step, two steps, perhaps a third? Its sings, it brings — will is thin A third. And the water welcomes another disturbance She’s flying down the river You have to catch her, she’s flying away! The rocks rush towards you, But nothing's standing in your way You tell the rocks to be quiet, So they relinquish their stay You ponder about the water, But one wink keeps that thought at bay A giggle finds you from around the corner One hand adjusts the brush Alas, you found her! Your cold arms stretch out, With trembling wrinkled fingers She spears you with a barb — rippling away into a sphere

@Ballery1 I leave that to my sister's boyfriend. It turns out he raps my poems. Although I haven't heard a rendition before. Perhaps soon enough (:

Once when I left early from home A mountain stared at me with solemn stone It seemed to whisper, beckon in my ear “Climb my face. Heaven is here.” So I altered my course, and set for its feet Which created valleys, with lakes in between To the top, away I stole Thunder watched me, Tartarus broiled below My fingers grasped the final stone, The clouds kissed me, wet and cold Sweat strode to the ground around me The air whispered, of powers and boundaries And when my warm, daring breath, Scared away the mountain mist A luminous palace formed - beyond the mountains zenith Steps shimmered into place, Golden plated moisture and faith Their form woke and broke A bestial set of unfathomable stairs That stoked my stare, and demanded my fare So I thrusted out my coin, and dropped it into the air I never heard it drop, not did I hear myself One foot stepped off the mountain, Then another, a painless thought And I could no longer see the stairs Yet I could still climb their face To the palace — that began to wake The nuance of its majesty eluded me These walls were not crafted for my eyes For even when I reached its doors, And opened them to no fanfare It stoked my stare, yet left me bare Light that left me not blind, Yet relinquished nothing to wear Only one room made itself known to me It’s entrance rose higher than my vision, With two columns with faces ever changing My eyes were stolen away from that complexity To what encompassed the room before me A circular depression dominated the room With stones that glistened, a meadow of bloom And this iridescent violet, emanating royal blue Fiery maroon, and gladial evergreen stone Caught my eye, and wore my guise And I was not bare, and it welcomed my stare And my hand stretched out, As a being boomed in with fanfare The palace was awake I could hear the people - I could hear the creatures And footsteps of thunder, that approached my aether Though it stole me not, from what sat before me And as my fingers approached that stone, That sat in a bed with its brothers of old My hand moved slower, my heart felt numbered Yet my eyes shone, helplessly unencumbered Dust of its make broke away, and streamed to my tips As I accepted its way And it was then that my lungs gave its final breath For my heart shook, as my fingers came to the end A terrible, horrible, desecrating scream Followed after from behind the being The fanfare stopped. And so did she. And he. And it. And so did I. And my only wish, was that I had closed my eyes before it.
