Political -
Along with the industrial revolution came the scientific revolution, where the standards of science were more important and the general public began realizing that the religious institutions, specifically churches, aren't necessarily correct regarding nature. This eventually lead to reform in monarchies and governance and the abolishment of absolutism in monarchies, as well as the creation of constitutional monarchs. Women gained more rights.

Economic -
Thomas Malthus was worried of overpopulation and suggested that food shortages would be more common with overpopulation. However, he was wrong because with the industrial and 2nd agricultural revolution (largely the same), agricultural techniques improved. Also, agriculture and farming was less subsistence, and more commercial agriculture came in. This lead to mass production of crops and improved the agricultural economy globally.
