My idea of drone warfare: 1. Drones are cheap, just get a ton of them, or 3D print them. 2. Load them with chemical explosives/EMP 3. Have a vehicle designed to launch many drones at once. 4. Swarm the drones at your target, and when drones are in position (via GPS), detonate the explosive. Can you think of any ways to counter this attack, (and if it's possible to solve that problem)

AngeI:

So just yeet the drones?

Oof, I thought of a problem: Microwave/high-frequency beams might be able disable the drones? EMP (Electromagnetic Bomb) can disable the electronic circuitry in a area. |dw:1570651808612:dw| |dw:1570651852709:dw|

mhchen:

Well, let's limit the materials to things obtainable by a common civilian. (3D Printers, drones, bombs, crappy weapons, and computers)

mhchen:

I can't think of any practical defense systems. The idea of a killing drone swarm accessible to civilians is pretty terrifying and cool. Like seriously, you got people in Hong Kong using umbrellas against water hoses. Time to learn how to manufacture drones.

dude:

LOL Yeah I mean in a world where you didn't have limits you could probably build a drone that could attack You could also build drones with a unique design against emp's (then drones would not be what they are now) China probably has some lethal threat hanging around

mhchen:

I don't think you need drones to be EMP-resistant due to the different in cost of a single drone and a single EMP blast. I'd say it's very close to limitless as long as you got a 3D printer, and bomb-making is pretty easy (as you can see by terrorists), but idk about chemical bombs. If it really does get to that point then government military would be deployed obv. I saw this one diagram where drones relay connections to each other so that you can control a drone from very, very far away using a network of drones. |dw:1570653385772:dw| |dw:1570653356736:dw| I saw an image of the PLA testing 56 drone boats in a swarm.
