Makayla333:

Devonte is purchasing a block shaped like a rectangular prism for a construction project. He knows the volume, V, and the area of the base, B, of the block. Devonte needs to be sure that the block is not too tall for his project. He wants to rearrange the formula V = Bh so that the height, h, of the block can be determined given the volume and the area of the base. Which equation should Devonte use?

WELCOME TO QCCCCCCC!!!!

Makayla333:

i need help

Gdeinward:

Are there any answer choices? Also, do you have any idea where to start?

Makayla333:

A.h = BV B.h = VB C.h = V x B D.h = V − B

Gdeinward:

Well volume is found by multiplying the base by the height. So to find the height, we need to somehow eliminate the base from the equation

Gdeinward:

I imagine, A and B originally had division signs. Because we multiply base times height to find volume, we must do the opposite operation and divide volume by the base to find its height. So: h = V / B

Gdeinward:

So B is your answer
