1st: Correct It was D The battle was won by the youngest battalion ever. This sentence is written in passive voice. In the passive voice, the weaker form, the subject is acted upon. It receives the action of the battalion. 2nd: Incorrect It was D Nothing was there but fields of snow and mountains of ice. In this option, the elements are parallel.
