I need ideas on what to illustrate... Please help!

Incorporate in your artwork a story map that can assist in the story.

First, pick a story you would like to illustrate. - I need a typical short story to illustrate. Possibly one that I could create a landscape illustration of, so head the natural route maybe?

After you have decided what your story will be, create an art piece that illustrates the story. You may use any materials that you feel comfortable using. For example, you can draw with pencil, oil pastels, or paint using a paint or drawing program on the computer, or even sculpt an image. Use your imagination and creativity to develop an artwork that best represents the story you want to tell.

I'm going to draw on paper, not on an online program. Please let me know :)

Interesting short stories you could do is the jungle book. You know the collection of short stories

For example, in the story Rikki Tikki Tavi, you could create artwork illustrating the fight between the mongoose and the cobra
