Recipe for the best damn sweet potato pie ur eva gonna eat:
Where's the recipe?
yeah for real
I would try it
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour 1-2/3 cup of sugar 1 cup mashed sweet potatoes 2 eggs 1/4 cup light corn syrup 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (more or less, depending on ur preference.) pinch of salt 1/2 cup butter softened( you can add a bit less, depends on ur preference) 3/4 cup evaporated milk ! unbaked pastry shell( I prefer to use pillsbury premade pie crusts)
bout 1 pound of sweet potatoes is equivalent to 2 cups mashed. First chop up sweet potatoes into cubes, and boil in pot of water for about 5 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are soft. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Add the swett potatoes, eggs, corn syrup, cinnamon, salt, butter and evaporated milk. Beat well. Step 3: bake at 350 for 55-60 minutes. Cool on a rack, or on the stove top for an hour, refridgerate for at least three hours before serving. If you dont like cold pie, eat it after it cools for the hour.
Remeber with baked goods, preference is key, so take preference into account.
feel free, to change things where you feel is necessary, but bake this as a base line
Seems more like a standard recipe to me. I don't see anything "ground breaking" or special with those ingredients.
Taste it before you knock it my freind
lol
I think you missed my point.
THe reason why it is so good is because of the simplicity
It's a standard recipe (i.e. one without all the bells and whistles)
By no means did I say there was going to be any ground breaking ingredients. I only said it tasted good.
The title of this thread should be "Standard Recipe For Sweet Potato Pie".
As I previously said, taste it.
I have plenty experience eating standard sweet potato pie.
Then you should know a good pie when you see one.
What is evaporated milk
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @mhchen What is evaporated milk \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) milk with some of the water removed. the texture is thicker and it can be stored longer.
So it'll make the pie more solid I presume.
oh thank you I will use this for thanksgiving
ur welcome
