When reading an informational text, how do you identify the author's thesis statement? (5 points) The thesis statement is the first sentence of the introduction, in which the author introduces the topic for the first time. The thesis statement is the sentence in the introduction that states the author's specific ideas about the topic. The thesis statement is the sentence found at the beginning of a body paragraph, which is followed by supporting details. The thesis statement is the sentence found at the end of the conclusion, which wraps up the author's ideas on the subject.
Where is the text?
It's a general question, not specific to a text
Hmm You should be used to at least the format of the informative text. But the thesis is that sentence that tells the reader what you are writing about. Thesis statements are always in the introduction, otherwise you would not know what you are reading.
Generally you'd expect it to be somewhere in the introductory paragraph and I know some teachers are super iffy about it (I had one who demanded it be the last sentence). It's either option 1 or 2. Dang this question is hard because it's all up to teacher interpretation
