Kim's softball team was playing in the championship game. When there were 4 innings left, the team was losing by a score of 17 to 6 points. In the last 4 innings, her team scored the same number of points per inning, and the other team did not score any more points. Kim's team won with the most points. Write an inequality to determine the number of points per inning, p, Kim's team could have scored. Find the minimum whole number of points per inning Kim's team could have scored.

dude:

Read the question carefully - They are currently 17 to 6 - They have 4 innings left to win - Her team scores the same amount of points per inning - The enemy team did not gain any points after their 17 - Kim's team won because of more points First lets start with Kim's team needing to have more than 17 points to win *They can't be tied* x>17 Now it says they have 4 innings left and scores the *same amount of points* per inning 4x>17 Now we add the fact that they started from 6 points, not 0 4x+6>17 Cool, now that we have this solve for x to answer the second part of the question which gives us the minimum amount [Note: be weary that you cannot gain part of a point, so round up to the nearest whole number]
