dunno how detailed they want you to go with this but I can give you some pointers: structure: - shape is usually round/ovular - double membranes w/ phospholipid bilayer - may contain a dense region in the central part of the nucleus, called the nucleolus (makes ribosomal subunits for protein synthesis) - membranes have pores that selectively allow transfer of material inside/outside nucleus functions: - protection and storage of DNA - regulates gene expression - processing and modification of pre-mRNA
