I want to get everyone's opinion on this. ~Your English teacher tells you to write formally in a mini-essay that's about 3 paragraphs long for a compare and contrast project.~ When talking "formally" what words do you want to exclude?
Here is a link that might help https://proofreadingpal.com/proofreading-pulse/essays/8-tips-to-make-your-writing-sound-more-formal/
Thanks
: Insert thumbs up here: Gonna wait for other people to respond if they will. Will close at the end of the day
Don’t use 1st/2nd person like I,you, yours we..unless your teacher says it is okay to use
And of course no contraction
Probably already mentioned in the link above hm
When referring to something, how would you address the audience? Or would you at all?
First at the beginning you have to mention who the audience is(in this case it might be just the professor) the reason why we avoid 2nd person is bec we don’t wanna directly point out a person if necessary use third person
What is your topic?
I've picked After Twenty Years by O. Henry, and What it means to say Phoenix, Arizona
By Sherman Alexa or I think I spelled it right
So you are comparing 2 articles. What are you trying tell the audience about the articles?? I don’t think of any way where I feel like using 2nd 1st person in this context
;-; did u go to the first k-pop photo you saw
mah god sav. no. you need to use words that you would use if you were giving a speech to the president. no likes or stuff or things should be used
