A soccer ball accelerates as it rolls down a steep hill and then gradually comes to a stop at the bottom. According to Newton's laws which of the following statements could be true? Statement 1: While the ball was rolling down the hill the forces acting on it were unbalanced. Statement 2: The ball came to a stop at the bottom because all moving objects must eventually stop. Statement 3: Balanced forces acted on the ball once it reached the bottom of the hill causing it to stop. Group of answer choices Only Statement 3 is true. All three statements are true. Statement 1 and 2 are both true. Only Statement 1 is true.
b or C?
Well for one here are his laws Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it. Force equals mass times acceleration [ ]. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Moving objects are eventually supposed to stop is too general.
So only D?
thats what I think, but I want justjms opinion @justjm
okay
Yeah remember unbalanced force = acceleration So statement 1 is right Statement 2 is wrong because all moving objects don't necessarily come to a stop. Here on earth they do because friction and air resistance acts as a force against the force of application. Statement 3 is wrong. An unbalanced force had to act on the accelerating ball to yield a net force on the ball, causing it to have no acceleration. So I'll agree with Gdein, good job
thank you guys
