1. it's written for a child, so keep your language simple
2. make a list of all the "basic" functions of a phone. I would start with

b. texting
c. browsing the web
d. downloading and using apps, etc.
then think about how you would explain these to a child.
3. there's a visual component, too, so think about looking up images on the internet (be sure to site sources) or try drawing them yourself. your drawing should help illustrate the points you make in the paper. for example, if you want to explain how to make a phone call, you could make a drawing pointing to the phone application
