Helen is helping plan a trip for three classes at her son's school. School rules say that classes on trips must have 1 adult for every 6 children. One class has 24 children; one has 26 children; and the third has 28 children. Each class has 1 teacher. How many OTHER adults are needed for the trip?

the rules say 1 adult for evary 6 children just use the rule of 3 simple 1 adult for 6 children x adult for 24 children cross multiply and you get 6x = 1*24 so 6x = 24 6x = 24 divide both sides by 6 and you get x = ?
