Hi!! I was trying to write a argumentative paper and I cannot think of something to write it about. Any ideas?? Thank you!
When writing an argumentative essay, you're simply stating an opinion (ideally something you're very passionate about) and demonstrating the validity of that opinion using reputable sources. So find something you're passionate about. Something you believe in, something you feel very strongly about. Often times, people write about something they observe in this world to be a wrong practice and something should be done about. They cite trends, behaviors, laws currently in place, events in the news, etc to show why the wrong is wrong and why if it continues it could lead to some harm that may threaten or destroy a community, lifestyle, a system of government, a country or even the world itself. Then they suggest a solution or a call to action which they try to, in a convincing manner, alert to those reading her argumentative essay, "This is what needs to be done" and it needs to happen swiftly.
When you write an argumentative essay, you state a position (your opinion) then you defend that position using multiple sources that demonstrate your position is valid and is something important that needs to be addressed, considered, and acted upon.
Hero's description is quite good; I have nothing more to add except my help. Let me know if you need a peer for some reviewing or brainstorming. I've helped with all the way up to graduate papers/projects.
