to solve systems of equations you can set them equal to each other and solve for the x value. (which is where they intersect) then plug it back in and find the y-value)

In your case y=x+2 and y=-3/5x-6. Set them equal to each other so
x+2 = -3/5x-6, isolate x by subtracting 2 from both sides. which results in x= -3/5x-8. Then add 3/5x to both sides so it becomes 8/5x=-8 then multiply by 5 on both sides so 8x=-40. Then divide by 8 to get x=-5. plug it back in any of the equations and find the y-value

step 5 add the x terms
