I'm trying to bake something that calls for 1/ 2 of a vanilla bean. I don't have vanilla beans, so I'm going to use vanilla extract to substitute for 1/2 of a vanilla bean.

How much vanilla extract do I need for 1/2 of a vanilla bean?

I'd say 1/3,I did this before with a 1-2-3-4 cake it turned out pretty good/sweet.
