No not A. if it was metaphase, you would see the spindle fibers in center of the cell attached to the kinetochores of the chromosomes. Helpful remembering cue for metaphase: Metaphase = Middle You can clearly see the retracting of the spindle fibers which are attached to the sister chromatids. What do you think?

Metaphase would look a lot more like the cell to the direct right of the cell of interest. You can see there the spindle fibers have not retracted.
