What part of the cpu takes information in the form of binaries from the memory and decodes ithe instruction and produce an electrical signal???
@mhchen @Ultrilliam
... b-binaries... oh lawd I'm triggered
Is it not binary digits in the form of 1 and 0?
I'm triggered by the unneeded pluralization
Sorry I’m starting over after a month long break, i have no idea what I’m talking about so plz ignore my dumb*** for now
Oh i see, my apologies
I believe you're looking for the Instruction Decoder
Is it CU or ALU?
Ah, ALU if that's what you're looking for... question was a bit broad
So my textbook made a mistake...i knew it
They completely mixed up the functions of CU and ALU in the book and it was throwing me off lol
Do you want me to post a snap ?
Read the fetch, decode and execute operations and tell me if I’ve made a mistake.
Please also tell me which part of the cpu performs which out of those three. :) <3
Everything is correct in that screenshot
So what part of the cpu fetches?
The CU
K which part of the cpu decodes?
Technically there usually is an Instruction Decoder for that, but in this context I suppose the CU
You see where this is going??? Cuz when I hear the word *decode* I’m thinking ALU because it decodes the binary sequences
Wait .... :O does CU also executes? :O
I think i got it :) Thanks ultri <3 :)
