Indigo's Backstory
Part 1

I was born alone. Just me and my little sister, Natalie. I was born 7 years before she came along, and I raised her once our parents left us. We never rely on anybody but each other, and we don't care who we step on to get what we need. We don't like living like this, but you mortals won't help us, so a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right? Until one day... THEY came. They seemed sweet at first, but don't they all? Oh, who's they, you ask? I mean the Confiners. Those horrible men made us the MONSTERS that we are! We were normal girls, just trying to steal all we could from the store nearest our latest C-Zone. That's what you would call a place to sleep, but we call our Crash Zone. Suddenly, a nice enough woman and three men walked up to us, and they pulled us in. We were confused and scared, thinking they would lock us up, or maybe they’d split us up, which I wouldn’t let happen. So what did I do? I tried to fight, but I just felt… So tired… And I could tell Natalie was too. So, before we passed out, I reached for her hand, and I whispered her name in our native language. “Natarī…” And I could just barely hear her calling back: “Injigo…” And then everything went dark. When I woke up, I was in a comfortable room, in a bed I knew was not my own, and I panicked, looking for Natalie. “NATALIE!!!” I looked around, and sighed, relieved, when I saw her sleeping, curled up, a few beds down from where I sat, legs over the side, looking around these unfamiliar grounds. I jumped down and crossed the floor to her, where she was shivering, and pulled the blanket over her and kissed her forehead.
