@dude Hayyyy doooood

mhchen:

Can you guess what f(-1) and g(-1) is?

Razor:

@mhchen No I'm confused as hell, but I do know that f(x) and g(x) are meant for substitution, so for each variable you're supposed to put -1 in it's place.

mhchen:

Cool. Looking at the table, f(-1) is 9. Can you see why

mhchen:

f(-3) = 81 f(-2) = 27 g(0) = 10.5 See the pattern?

Razor:

I know the x is being divided.... by 3?

mhchen:

nah you don't know that. You only know the table values. The rows are f(x) or g(x) the columns is x so if the row is f(x) and the column is 4 then it's f(4)

Razor:

*-* Talk to me like I'm 10 rq, math isn't my strong suit. Either that or explain where the hecc 4 came from

mhchen:

|dw:1579896795719:dw| do get this picture

Razor:

Ohhhhh okay okay :p yes continue

mhchen:

Okay, same thing with your picture. What is f(-1)?

Razor:

f(-1) is 9, like you said before, and now that I understand.

mhchen:

Cool. So now you can figure out for which x f(x) = g(x) right

Razor:

-1, 9, and 9 xD??

mhchen:

yeah

Razor:

So I'm assuming you mean, the solution is 9 = 9 or something, or just -1,9, and 9. Depends on how I format it.

mhchen:

Just say x = -1

Razor:

Oh okay O.O ty and yw for helping you get to lvl 66
