An advertisement claims that a 5-pound box of detergent will wash 20 loads of laundry. A 5- pound box costs $3.50. A 15-pound box costs $10.00. How much will you save PER LOAD if you buy the 15-pound box? (Round all answers to the nearest tenth of a cent.)

jhonyy9:

so you know that 15 pound box cost $10,00 and you know again that 5 pound box cost $3,50 in this way bc. hope you know that 15=3*5 so just you need multiplie the price of 5 pound box by 3 and from what you get subtract the cost of 15 pound box so you have got the money what you save then you buy 15 pound box and not 3 time 5 pound box given that a 5 pound box will wash 20 loads for $3,50 so using these details with the rule of 3 simple you get easy the cost of 1 load 20 load cost $3,50 1 load cost $x_1 x_1 = 3,50/20 = ? make these above wrote in case of 15 pound so then 5 pound wash 20 loads then 15 pounds wash 3 time more bc. 15 = 3*5 so 3*20 = 60 loads 15 pound cost $10 so 60 loads cost $10 60 loads cost $10 1 load cost x_2 x_2 = 10/60 = ? so to get how much will you save PER LOAD if you buy the 15-pound box so just you need subtract from x_1 the x_2 hope helped understandably
