Five pounds of body fat is equivalent to 16000 calories. Carol can burn 600 calories per hour bicycling and 400 calories per swimming. How many calories will carol burn in x hours of cycling? How many calories will she burn in y hours of swimming?

jhonyy9:

given Carol burn 600 cal/h bicycling and 400 cal/h swiming so usong the rule of 3 simple will get 600 cal burn in 1 h Y cal in X hours Y = 600*x so from this reault that Carol burn in x hours 600*x calories and the same way calcule in case of swiming

Oh thank you :) Hmm....I was wondering if it would work to have c represent calories burnt...would it work to say: Cycling: c=600x Swimming: c=400y

jhonyy9:
