The Dred Scott case was about a slave who had run away from a slave master. He lived in Illinois and therefore since Illinois was a free state he posited that he should be allowed his freedom. The Supreme Court ruled against this and so it became likely that even free states wouldn’t be free anymore. From this information what do you think the answer is?
