sirp:

fred took 7h to drive from Cheyenne to Boothill, a total distance of 485km. He drove most of the way at 80km/h, but slowed at 30km/h for a time by a dust stormduring the trip. how many hours did he spend driving through the dust storm?

jhonyy9:

@sirp you dont missed nothing from there - this text - ?

sirp:

that is the question

jhonyy9:

|dw:1582562936018:dw| any idea now ?

sirp:

there are 2 unknowns how do i solve for x and y

jhonyy9:

so this is why i asked you about missed details

sirp:

those are the info given

Mercury:

this is similar to the other question I worked out you can write one equation for time (x + y = 7 hrs) and another equation for distance (80x + 30y = 485) where x is the # of hours going fast and y is the # of hours going through the dust storm. (if you're having trouble deriving or solving these please let us know, we want to help you)
